Tinolang Isda is a healthy and delicious Filipino soup recipe. I regularly cook this at home. It is a healthy soup composed of freshly caught fish and vegetables such as malunggay leaves, green onion, garlic, onion, lemon grass and ginger. For us Filipinos, this is best eaten during breakfast or dinner.
For this tinolang isda, I used fresh dolphinfish "pandawan". I bought it from Ororama Grocery Store - their wet market section sells freshly caught fish but I suggest you go there in the morning. Now let me share to you how I prepare this healthy soup.

INGREDIENTS
1/2 kilo fish
5 cups water
Malunggay leaves
1 thumb ginger, cut into strips
1 medium-sized onion, sliced
1 medium-sized ripe tomato, sliced
2 cloves garlic, peeled and sliced
1 lemongrass
green onions
salt and pepper, to taste

INSTRUCTION
Place water in a pot and add fish together with ginger, onion, lemon grass and ripe tomato then let it boil.
When already boiling, add malunggay leaves together with sliced garlic. Just soak the malunggay leaves in the boiling water, don't stir.
Sprinkle the ground black pepper and salt to taste.
Simmer for few minutes until the malunggay leaves is slightly cooked.
Just before serving, add green onions.
Transfer to a serving bowl. Serve hot.
