Nutritious Bread Products at Malunggay Pastel Breads & Grill
7:54 PM
My wife and I were walking around Divisoria on a rainy Friday evening
when we accidentally stopped at one store whose name really enticed us. Yes, It’s
Malunggay Pastel Breads & Grill.
Due to heavy rain, we decided to get inside and tasted some of their healthy
bread products. We ordered siopao, pastel, cookies, pandesal and some bread
products – all baked with shredded malunggay in it. After consuming one siopao
and pastel, we were already full and were not able to taste the other which
later on became pasalubong at home.
With their Malunggay Pastel, a yema filled bun with malunggay leaves, you
don’t only enjoy a delicious but also a nutritious dessert. You can even see
the shredded malunggay in the filling. Having talked with some of their staffs,
they made sure that their breads contain less sugar with no preservatives as they
want everybody to taste it specially those having diet restrictions. We even
saw one of their staffs carefully removing the fresh malunggay leaves.
Malunggay or Moringa oleifera is a popular vegetable in Asia
specifically Philippines and best known as an
excellent source of nutrition, natural energy booster and medicinal uses.
Malunggay Pastel Breads & Grill is located at Divisoria, Cagayan de Oro City beside AGFA photo studio. They also have another branch in Pueblo de Oro. Some of their products are available in pasalubong centers in the city.
